by

Steve Munisteri

Senior Advisor and Policy Director to Governor Abbott

Stephen Munisteri is an accomplished American attorney whose political career began in his teenage years as a volunteer for Texas Republicans Hank Grover and John Tower in 1972. He established his solo law practice on November 1, 1982, which evolved into the firm now known as Sprott, Rigby, Newson, Robbins & Lunceford P.C.

From 2010 to 2015, Munisteri served as the chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. In 2017, he was appointed to the White House staff as deputy assistant to President Trump and principal deputy director of the Office of Public Liaison, a role he held until 2019. He left the Trump Administration in 2019 to help run the re-election campaign of Senator John Cornyn. Since December 2020, Munisteri has been serving as senior adviser and policy director in the office of Governor Greg Abbott.
